Recreation and Leisure

The Severn Estuary and River Usk is an inherently dangerous place because of its extreme tidal regime and great care is required when navigating within the Newport Harbour and both the upper and lower reaches of the River Usk

Vessels should carry proper safety equipment.

The Harbour Master at Newport can give advice to anyone who is new to navigating within the Harbour (see Contacts).
